Highly sensitive interdigitated thermistor based on PEDOT:PSS for human body temperature monitoring

Abstract This work introduces a wearable, highly sensitive human body temperature sensor. The proposed thermistor sensor employs poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) as sensing layer and interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) from Silver nanoparticles deposited on Polyimide (PI) Epson glossy paper substrates. IDEs were patterned using inkjet printer Drop-on-demand PiXDRO LP50. PEDOT:PSS was added by drop casting technique. sensitivity of fabricated sensors tested for different IDE number fingers to investigate their response the range 28–50 °C. performed linearly in range. Repeatability has been verified five measurement cycles. achieved sensitivities are −1.462% /°C −3.202%/°C PI substrates, respectively. bendability results highlight capability be utilized wearable reading.
